# Phases of a Season
A season represents the main cycle of a league. During its duration, different phases alternate, determining the economic, contractual, and sporting operations of the teams.
A season includes tournaments, transfer market phases, and auctions, and many, many matches!
A season is characterized by 6 Phases:
- Start
- First half
- First transfer session
- Second half
- Second transfer session
- End
# Start
This is the phase that defines how the entire season will unfold.
Admins can define the Seasonal Limits in this phase, which determine the course of the season.
# Operations by Phase
# 1. Before a transfer session
If the current phase is before a transfer session, the following actions are performed:
- Reduction of loans (half-season) with subsequent actions in case the duration reaches 0.
- Reduction of settlements expiration (with payment to the receiving team if the duration reaches 0)
- In case of a League with contracts, release of players without a contract
# 2. During the closing of a transfer session
When a transfer session closes:
- In case of a League with contracts, players without a contract are released.
- Pending loans (terminated loans with a right to buy) are returned to the original owners.
- Contracts are reduced by half a season.
- Team salaries are recorded.
- Reassignment of lottery numbers.
# 3. Sponsor Assignment
Based on the Seasonal Limits, the sponsor is assigned in the phase chosen by the admins.
# Creation of the New Season
At the end of the End phase:
- Salaries are paid.
- The league automatically generates a new season.
