Contracts

# Purpose of Contracts

If activated during the League creation phase, this portal allows the use of Contracts. These are a way to prevent player stagnation on the same team, to move the market, and to make the managerial experience more simulation-like.

# How They Work

Contracts have a minimum duration of "Half-season". This is because a league season is divided into two halves.
Each player can receive a contract duration from "half-season" up to a maximum of three seasons.

# Contract Assignment

A manager can assign contracts to their players at any time during the season, but only to players whose contract needs to be renewed.
To assign contracts, simply go to your team and click on the icon next to each player to open the contract signing form.

# Cost of Contracts

The cost for a half-season contract depends on the value set in the Seasonal Limits.

# Benefits of Contracts

Upon signing the contract, the player's salary will be frozen. This means that for the entire duration of their contract, their salary to be paid will be equal to the salary the player had at the time of signing.
With each contract renewal, their salary will be updated accordingly.

When a player changes teams, for example after an exchange between managers, their contract will be reset, so that the new manager can have them sign the desired contracts.

Caution

When the league has activated the contract feature, players exchangeable between managers MUST have at least a half-season contract.

# Release of Players without a Contract

Immediately before and immediately after the Market Session phase, players WITHOUT a contract will be released from the teams. So make sure to assign contracts to all your players you don't want to lose!
