Tournaments

# Competitions

In every respectable League, there must be tournaments for its managers to compete in.

Every Tournament is divided into Matchdays, which in turn are divided into Matches.

# Tournament Type

On this portal, it is possible to create 3 distinct types of tournaments:

  • League
  • Knockout Tournament (Single-Elimination)
  • Group Stage + Knockout Tournament

# League

A league is made up of a number of matchdays that depends on the number of participating teams and the presence or absence of a return leg.
By default, all participating teams will challenge, once at home and once away (if the return leg is enabled), all teams registered for the tournament.

# Knockout Tournament

A knockout tournament involves direct clashes between 2 teams, and the number of rounds depends on the number of teams registered for the tournament. It is possible to create knockout tournaments with a number of teams other than a power of 2. In this case, some teams will start with a Bye.

# Group Stage + Knockout Tournament

In this type of tournament, a group stage will first take place (which functions like the League type) and then a knockout stage. During the tournament creation phase, it will be necessary to choose how many teams will advance to the next phase.

# Matchdays

Every tournament takes place over matchdays. The admins' task is to choose the opening date for each matchday, considering that a matchday cannot open earlier than the one preceding it.
The portal will automatically open the matchdays on the indicated date.
Upon the opening of the matchday, the injured players will be registered.

# Matches

Every matchday is composed of at least one match.
For a matchday to be considered closed, all the matches that compose it must have been played.
Upon every played match, the match closing actions will be executed:

  • Assignment of match awards
  • Registration of any suspended players for the subsequent round
