Welcome to Game Of Leagues
Welcome! Game of Leagues is a portal that allows you to create and manage a League, a place where you can organize tournaments and championships of all kinds, both with friends in the real world and online. You can form your virtual team and play matches in games like eFootball or EAFC.
The portal was created to support virtual managers dedicated to team management in eFootball (formerly Pro Evolution Soccer) and EAFC (formerly FIFA). Today, it is also capable of hosting real tournaments.
Buy players at auctions, propose trades to your opponents, and win competitions to enter the Hall of Fame!
Read this page to discover all the details about the portal! Most of the information concerns leagues based on video games.
League Rules
Each league has a set of rules configurable by the administrators, such as the maximum and minimum number of players in the squad, the minimum bid at auctions, and more. The league rules can be modified at the beginning of each season. You can view the full list of rules in the regulation section of your league.
A Season in the League...
Each league is structured in seasons, each of which has a start, an end, one or more market phases, and one or more tournaments. The phases of a season are as follows:
- Season Start: Registrations, team assignments, definition of league rules, salaries, etc.
- First Market Session: Trades between users, auctions, contract renewals, and release of unwanted players. Players without a contract will be released at the end of this phase.
- First Half of the Season: Tournament start. The goal is to win!
- Second Market Session: Similar to the first, it offers the opportunity to adjust the team for the second half.
- Second Half of the Season: Conclusion of the tournaments and fight for the most prestigious prizes.
- End of Season: "Ghost" phase for salary payments and assignment of any bonuses. The season ends with the admin's input, and preparation for the next season begins.
This structure is present only if there are two market sessions. It is possible to configure the season with only one market phase or none:
- One Market Phase: The Season Start, First Market Session, Tournaments (combined into a single phase), and End of Season take place. In this case, the contracts deducted from the players are doubled.
- No Market Phase: The Season Start, Tournaments, and End of Season take place. Suitable for already formed teams or those made up of real players, where transfers only happen manually through the admins. In this configuration, no contracts are deducted from the players, nor are salaries paid.
Teams
Teams are divided into four types:
- Major
- Minor
- COOP
- 11v11
To actively participate in all the portal's activities, such as the market, the user must be the manager of a major team. If the league allows it, the user can also manage a team for each of the other types.
Here are the differences between the various teams:
- Major Team: It is the user's main team. You must form it by buying players, paying their salaries, and trying to win to reinvest and improve the team.
- Minor Team: Exists only if the major team exists. It functions as a cantera, where young players can grow. These players can be freely transferred to and from the major team, respecting the league's limits. Salaries of minor team players are not paid.
- COOP Team: Formed by two or more users. Players can be taken from the users' major squads or selected randomly. They participate in coop tournaments, with prizes divided among the winning team's members.
- 11v11 Team: Composed of the users themselves or their avatars. Performances are recorded, and if the tournament is part of a league, prizes are awarded to all members of the winning team.
To form a major team, you need to buy players through auctions or trades. Trades can include multiple players and/or money.
Salaries
To keep a player on your team, you need to pay their salary, which usually increases with their "overall" and also depends on their position on the field. Salaries apply only to major teams and only if a market phase is scheduled for the season.
Contracts
At the start of each season, each team receives a number of contracts, to be assigned to purchased players or those with expired contracts. Each contract covers half a season. Contracts can only be assigned to players without a contract and lock the player's salary until the end of the contract. Contracts decrease by two units each season, and players without a contract at the end of the market sessions will be automatically released.
Market Phase
If the league is managerial, it will have a market phase, during which teams can make trades with other managers. If there are minor teams, internal trades can be made. Trades are proposed by one manager and accepted or rejected by the other. A player can also be loaned.
Auctions
Another way to acquire players is through auctions, which can be of three types:
- Closed Bid Auction: Managers' bids are secret until the auction closes.
- Open Bid Auction: Bids are visible in real time.
- Sale Auction: A manager can put one of their players up for sale with a starting bid. If no one bids, the player remains on the team.
Auctions can only take place during the market phase and can also involve minor teams. A manager can only make a bid if they have no pending trades.
Tournaments
A league can have an unlimited number of tournaments during a season, which can be of three categories:
- Championship: Each team faces all others at least once. Points are awarded based on match results.
- Knockout: Teams advance in an elimination bracket. Home and away matches can be scheduled.
- Mixed: Teams are divided into groups, and points are awarded as in the championship. The best teams advance to the knockout stage.
Matches
Each tournament consists of matchdays, each with one or more matches. Matches can only be played when the matchday to which they belong is open. The opening involves defining the injured players and the weather. There is no maximum time limit to play a match, but it is recommended that admins set rules to limit the time.
Injured Players
The injured player pool makes matches more varied. Each tournament has a maximum number of injuries per matchday. Each player has an assigned number, and if one of the numbers assigned to a player is drawn, that player will be injured and unavailable for that matchday.
Suspensions
Suspensions determine how many yellow cards a player must receive in different matches to be suspended for the next match.
Weather
The weather for the matchday is randomly assigned by the portal based on the time of year and the available weather conditions in the game.
Prizes
During a season, a team can aim for various prizes, whether related to competitions or not. Each tournament offers individual prizes such as:
- Tournament MVP: Player with the most Man of the Match awards.
- Top Scorer: Player with the most goals in the tournament.
- Assist Leader: Player with the most assists in the tournament.
- Yashin Award: Best goalkeeper based on ratings.
Admins can create custom prizes, such as "Best Goal of the Tournament" or "Best Save of the Tournament."
Automation
The portal allows admins to automate many processes, such as advancing the phases of the season.
Calendar
The calendar is the main tool for automating the season. The calendar can be prepared at the start of the season, with the closing dates for each phase and each tournament. Activities with deadlines will automatically close at the set date and time.
Good luck!
